Reasons For and Against Flying Simulator Games for Pilot Training

flying simulator games Computers affect nearly every part of your life today.  One reason for this is through virtual reality and things like flying simulator games.  Since there is such high resolutions in most computer monitors you can rest assured that any part of your world can come to life before your eyes.

The gaming world is very popular today and most people find that they play at least one type of game.  Simulation games are some of the most popular games today but some would say that there are major lines being crossed when games are used in place of training.  There are people that both support and oppose flying simulator games as part of pilot training programs.

Many of these games are so realistic that the player must act and react as though they would in the real world.  Those who support this say that it does not matter that they are not in the air since they are still required to do everything that they would have to do if they were.  The theory is that the flying simulator games are a great way to teach the pilot how to use all of the controls that are in the aircraft.

Supporters encourage this type of play because they say that you can actually learn everything that you need to know from take offs to landing.  Plus since you can go online with some of the games you will find that the scenery and maps can even be the exact same that they would if you were in a real airplane.  All you have to do with many of these games is pay for a quick download and start playing.

It is said that one of the main advantages of using flying simulator games as part of the pilot training programs is that no one is risking their lives.  In the past the pilot trainee and the instructor would have to just take the chances as the trainee was learning how to do things.  Now the trainee is able to master the skill prior to boarding the aircraft.

There are some things that can and should be done if the flying simulator games are to be used for pilot training and one of the easiest is that they should have a realistic cockpit built around the computer screen to make learning as realistic as possible.  There are still those that argue that it can not make up for the real thing.  Although few would argue that it does.

Basically the student is still going to have to go beyond flying simulator games and is going to have to get enough actual flying experience as well.  The main purpose is just to learn the basics and to be able to figure out how to use the controls.  Once the controls have been mastered it is much easier to actually fly a real aircraft.

No matter who you are you should agree that flying simulator games are not the only pilot training that someone would need.  The future pilots still need to log as many hours of training into flying a real aircraft as they were prior to the simulator.  Basically the simulator should only be used to learn controls and basic skill and not in place of the live training that should also be done.
